Queen Pageant Guidelines

THE MORDEN CORN AND APPLE FESTIVAL QUEEN PAGEANT HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR 2008

The Morden Corn and Apple Queen Pageant is dedicated to offering hands-on learning experiences in the areas of skill development, communications, poise and presentation.

Interviews will be conducted with prospective contestants following submission of application form.

  1. Pageant meetings occur in a variety of settings such as community halls, homes and public venues.
  2. At various events pictures are taken of activities for possible use on the Festival/Town of Morden website or for Corn & Apple publications that promote the Festival and the Town of Morden.
  3. All candidates, including the successful Queen and Princess, during the Corn and Apple Festival activities, as well as during a term of reign, are at all times representatives of and ambassadors of the Corn and Apple Festival, the Town of Morden and for their sponsors, and are expected to act in an appropriate manner.  If you have questions regarding this, please ask.
  4. Throughout the year, the Royalty Committee will ask the Queen and/or the Princess, to attend a minimum of ten (or 80%) of community functions as a representative(s) of the Morden Corn and Apple Festival.  If unable to attend any function, the Royalty Committee should be notified as soon as possible so that a replacement can be arranged.
  5. If contestants, Queen and Princess wish to go outside Morden as part of the Morden Corn and Apple Festival Queen Pageant activities:
    1. Must have written consent (your signed application gives consent) from their parents that the Morden Corn and Apple Festival Queen Pageant or Committee and Board of Directors are not responsible in any way for such an outing.
    2. The contestants, Queen and Princess should also sign the letter/application as well.
  6. It is recognized that the Committee will strive to provide a safe and educational environment - however inherent risks associated with certain types of activities may occur.  Participation is at the Contestant's own risk.
